Let me
Let me run for the hills
and hide me away.
Just leave behind,
all the world for a day
Let me bury my head,
close my eyes to the view.
Cover my ears,
from the sound of the news.
Let me process my losses
and savour the wins.
Focus in silence,
repent all my sins.
Let me stay in the shadows,
away from the light.
Hidden from being,
lost in plain sight.
Let me come to my senses,
assess my own worth.
Find a new strength,
from all I have learned.
Let me recharge my courage,
to climb from this hole.
Exorcise angst,
that’s possessing my soul.
Let me be anti-social,
for I don’t care to talk.
Freedom to wander,
this solitary walk.
Let my mind have its moment,
to paper the cracks.
and hopefully, soon,
I will find my way back.
